More Than a Program: How Title I - Part C Supports Migrant Students and What You Can Do
Monday April 14, 2025 10:10am - 10:40am PDT
This session will provide an overview of the Title I - Part C Federal Migrant Education Program while demonstrating best practices for supporting English Learners (ELs). To model effective strategies, the session will be conducted in Spanish, with scaffolds in place to simulate the experience of English Learners. Participants will engage in hands-on activities using visual supports, scaffolding techniques, and interactive learning methods—just as educators can do for multilingual students. The session will also highlight the challenges migrant students face and offer practical strategies to foster inclusivity and academic success. Through this immersive experience, educators will gain empathy and leave with actionable strategies for their classrooms.
